Speaking Of Pork Products

Some recent research into industrial uses of pigs has revealed an interesting bit of information: Protein from pig blood may be used in the production of cigarette filters.
The Dutch research found pig haemoglobin - a blood protein - was being used to make cigarette filters more effective at trapping harmful chemicals before they could enter a smoker's lungs.

Prof Chapman said while tobacco companies had moved voluntarily list the contents of their products on their websites, they also noted undisclosed "processing aids ... that are not significantly present in, and do not functionally affect, the finished product".
I can't wait until the warnings on packs of cigarettes are something along the lines of, "SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Smoking Causes Lung Cancer, Heart Disease, Emphysema, And May Damn Your Eternal Soul Depending Upon Your Religious Beliefs."

I used to smoke about two packs a day up until about nine years ago. Now it's just cigars occassionally.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this, though, was that nearly all of the muslims that I have ever met have been cigarette smokers.

I vividly remember a group of them at a Denny's in the early 90s who were smoking away, but one of them sent back a plate of food because bacon was accidentally put on the plate. Food from a plate that had touched pork would not touch his lips, but he and his friends all kept smoking those Marlboros.

Keep smiling, Smiley! And enjoy your 3 "smoked hams" a day!

Hey USMC9971

Fr. Corapi says that smoking is a mortal sin. Did you know that? I didnt. me thinks he says so becasue we know it casues cancer yet we smoke, so we are deliberatly harming our bodies which is a temple of the HOly Spirit.
