Couldn't Happen To A Nicer Bunch Of Guys

Saddam Hussein, Barzan Ibrahim, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar have been sentenced to death by hanging.

Saddam Hussein, the iron-fisted dictator who ruled Iraq for nearly a quarter of a century, was found guilty of crimes against humanity Sunday and sentenced to death by hanging. [...]

Saddam's half brother and former intelligence chief Barzan Ibrahim, and Awad Hamed al-Bandar, head of the former Revolutionary Court, were sentenced to join Saddam on the gallows for the Dujail killings after an unsuccessful assassination attempt during a Saddam visit to the city 35 miles north of Baghdad.

The verdicts for the three will automatically go to a nine-judge panel for review, the judges have no time limit for reviewing the cases, and the executions must take place within thirty days if the verdicts are upheld. Hopefully the panel won't take too long to review the cases, and hopefully they will not find anything to overturn the verdicts.
